Heritage Auctions' current online musical instrument sale features a range of vintage acoustic guitars and mandolins that should appeal to collectors.
A pre-second world war Martin 000-21 acoustic guitar is one of the standout lots.
Made in Brazil in 1939, it has without doubt seen better days, having suffered a number of cracks and lost its finish.
Nevertheless, the auction house hopes to achieve at least $1,400 for the guitar, no doubt banking on the prestigious Martin name and the age of the instrument.
Of course, if any of these guitars at the auction were found to have once had a famous owner, their price would skyrocket.

A Johnny Cash signed Martin 0-15 acoustic guitar sold for $27,500 at a Julien's auction in December 2010.
Even guitar straps associated with famous names can be popular with collectors.
For example, a Jimi Hendrix Woodstock worn guitar strap is currently available on the private market. We expect his memorabilia to rise in value over the coming years as we move towards the 50th anniversary of his death, in 2020.
The Heritage sale, which ends on Thursday, July 28, will also feature a 1915 Gibson A natural Mandolin.
With an estimate of upwards of $700, this crack-free instrument could make considerably more than that figure due to its considerable age and good condition.
The eight-stringed instrument is a real beauty and is sure to appeal to collectors and musicians alike.
