Jesse James wanted poster to beat $25,000 at Wild West auction?

It comes to the sale armed with a $25,000 estimate, a figure it could easily achieve considering the popularity of memorabilia connected with the most famous characters of the Old West.

Jesse James is a particular draw at auction.

The only known signed photograph of the US outlaw made $51,240 at auction in 2011, far exceeding its high-end estimate of $30,000.

Born in Missouri in 1847, James was a Confederate guerrilla during the American civil war before turning to train robbery and bank raids.

He was killed in 1882 by Robert Ford, a member of his gang, for a $10,000 reward.

The auction will also feature a pencil drawing of the killing of George Custer, made by White Bull, the man believed to have been responsible for the general's death at the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876.

It has a high estimate of $30,000. We have an extremely rare George Custer autograph available now for £3,950 (approx $6,140) - a superb piece of American history.

A parade flag used in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show performances will also be up for grabs. It has an estimate of $40,000.
