William Shatner defeated the Bruce Lee and Terminator T-100 at Heritage's incredible memorabilia sale over the weekend, on July 17.
A Star Trek film series Starfleet Officer's uniform with jacket and shirt emerged as the sale's second-highest lot - all worn by Shatner as Captain (or Admiral as he was in the films) James T Kirk in the popular sci-fi franchise.
According to Heritage, when Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry created his original Star Trek series back in the 1960s, he was keen to avoid "excessive militarism" in the costume designs.
This was modified by director Nicholas Meyer for the second Star Trek movie, 1982's the Wrath of Khan, who upped the Naval themes in both the actors' dialogue and uniforms.

Designed by Robert Fletcher, Shatner worn the uniform in a number of the Star Trek feature films. T was later modified an worn by actor Leon Russom as a fellow Starfleet Commander in Star Trek VI.
Inspiring enthusiastic bidding from Trekkies and collectors with an eye for a good investment alike, the costume commanded a final price of $44,812.50 including Buyer's Premium.
Other celebrity-related highlights in the sale included Lucille Ball's 1984 Silver Spur Rolls Royce, owned by the I Love Lucy star in the late 1980s and '90s.
Ball, who passed away in 1989, is still regarded as one of the most popular and influential stars in America during the 1950s.

Boasting a white finish with tan vinyl hard top, a powerful V8 engine, and a number plate reading "Gary M" (Gary Morton, her second husband) the Rolls Royce brought $29,875.
However, leading the sale was a lot with neither Hollywood providence, nor film and television appearances to its credit: a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Guitar.
Vintage guitars still remain among the best collectible purchases and investments - and this very nice example of the three pickup "Custom" Les Paul proved no exception.

Boasting gold hardware and pickup covers which have a beautiful worn, but not corroded, patina, a distinctive black finish and still in great playing condition, the guitar sold for $56,762.50.
Elsewhere in the sale, an original screen-featured Prop T-800 Terminator arm - the only surviving piece of its kind from the groundbreaking 1984 sci-fi classic, The Terminator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger - brought $8,962.50.
Meanwhile, the iconic yellow-with-black-striped jumpsuit worn by martial arts legend Bruce Lee in his final screen appearance, Game of Death, is still for sale priced $71,700.
