Memento Mori powder horn
The Memento Mori carver remains anonymous, though the quality of his work shows that he was fully trained in the art

The 12-inch powder horn, incised with the name Roman Wetmore, will sell with a $20,000-30,000 estimate.

The Memento Mori carver is a well-known anonymous powder horn artist who worked between 1756 and 1760 at Fort Oswego on Lake Ontario.

His work is characterised by borders around the plug that consist of dotted or crosshatched lunettes or triangles.
