Captain Green spy archive will highlight sale at Bonhams

An archive of papers and documents pertaining to British spy Captain Julius Morris Green is to auction for £4,000-6,000 ($6,695-10,000) at Bonhams.

The lot will lead the Books and Manuscripts auction in London on June 18.

Green Colditz letters
Green relayed information to the British in coded letters

Green (who, unbeknownst to the Nazis, was Jewish) was employed within the army dental corps during the second world war and spied for the British while imprisoned in a range of POW camps.

The set comprises coded correspondence to his family under the guise of normal, albeit slightly eccentric, English.

We have a strong selection of militaria available.
