Black Watch medal pair could make up to $5,000

A pair of medals awarded to a sergeant in the Black Watch during the 19th century is to auction at Spink.

The lot is expected to make £2,500-3,000 ($3,899-4,679) on July 23.

It consists of a Military General Service 1793-1814 and a Waterloo 1815.

Colour sergeant William Bowman joined the regiment in 1812 and went on to serve during the Napoleonic wars.
