An 1893 Morgan dollar is the top lot of Heritage Auctions' US Coins Signature Auction in New York which ends on November 1, with a current bid of $199,750.
The 1893 silver dollar is one of the rarest of the Morgan dollars, named for their designer George T Morgan, with only around 100,000 ever minted.

The financial panic that swept across America in 1893, combined with an oversupply of silver dollars, led to fewer being struck in the years between 1893-1895.
Many more were melted down in 1918 to be converted into bullion, which was shipped to Britain in order to aid the war effort.
The example offered at Heritage is graded MS64 and features almost fully delineated hair above Liberty's ear, and only minute marks and light toning on the border.
One example, also graded MS64, sold for $299,000 at Heritage in 2009.
An 1861 silver $20 Paquet currently stands at $152,750.
Designed by Anthony C Paquet, the coin was declared unsuitable for production due to a problem with the font - yet by the time the message reached the San Francisco mint, 19,250 had been struck.
Only around 100 survive to this day.
The $20 features bright surfaces with no detracting abrasions, and exhibits a sharply struck design on both sides.
Another example made $184,000 at Heritage last year.
