The latest H&H Classics auction in Buxton, Derbyshire saw a number of lots exceed expectations and estimates.

Following on from the company's record-breaking £3 million sale in Duxford in September, the auction featured a selection of classic cars and motorcycles that attracted bidders from around the country.

The sale's top-selling lot was a Metallic Red 1967 Aston Martin DB6, continuing the company's recent trend for achieving high DB6 prices. Although described as in 'fair' condition by the seller, the car eventually doubled its estimate to sell for £121,000 ($190,616).

Amongst the other notable sales were a number of true British classics such as a matching numbers, left-hand drive 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster which sold for £71,500, and a 1933 MG J2 which brought £33,000. There were also great results for a Tudor Grey Metallic 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III, sold for £29,975, and a 1956 Bristol 405 which smashed its estimate to sell for £16,775.

In addition, the sale featured a few sporty European numbers. In particular, a stylish 1991 Ferrari Rosso Corsa Testarossa brought a price of £38,000 and a black Porsche 930 Turbo sold for £28,050.

Motorcycles were also well-represented with several sales, such as a partially restored 1929 Norton Model 18 that more than doubled its estimate at £7,480 and a 1961 BMW R69S which sold for £7,040.

In all, the sale (which took place on October 19) achieved a 73% sale rate, continuing H&H's recent run of successes. The company now looks ahead to their next sale at the Pavilion Gardens on December 7 which will include another top selection of classic cars, motorcycles and automobilia.
