Like all the finest collections, it has countless awards to its credit and some of the hobby's most desirable cars in its stunning buildings.
Yet, sooner or later, even the top collections need to find new owners.
This October, RM Auctions will do the honours in auctioning the Nethercutt Collection when the firm returns to the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania, US.
RM's annual auction will coincide with the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Eastern Division Fall Meet, whose members will undoubtedly lap-up the classics for sale.
The sale will boast some of the finest vintage models available on today's collectibles markets, including some particularly rare American autos.
Each will be sold without reserve, including this 1917 Chandler Type 17 Seven-Passenger Touring, Chassis No. 49736.
A 1922 Overland Model 4 Sedan, Chassis No. 186703 will also feature in the sale (you can also find various Overland cars in the AACA Museum Collection).
And this sleek and stunning 1927 Velie Model 60 Convertible Coupe, Chassis No. 157646, is also rolling onto the auction block.
We'll bring you detailed descriptions of these cars, and others in the sale, when they become available.
