A buyer spent $1.9m on an ultra-rare New South Wales number plate in Sydney, Australia over the weekend.
The number plate is one of the earliest issued in Australia
The #4 plate was issued in 1910, when cars were scarce on the roads.
The winning bidder was Chinese billionaire Peter Tseng, who made his money in the sex toy industry.
Tseng is an enthusiastic collector of number plates. He already owns #1 in Hong Kong and #2 in New South Wales.
The result may seem a little over the top, but it’s far from the most valuable number plate ever sold.
The record stands at $9m, set for a #1 plate in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 2008.
