A 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing will be among the leading lots at the Bonhams Goodwood Members' Meeting sale on March 20.
The car will be offered as part of the Kingsley Curtis collection, assembled over decades by the late British businessman whose passion for rare vehicles began in the early 1960s.

The collection spans more than a century, and features 14 motor cars, a carriage and even a Victorian horse-drawn hearse.
The Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, chassis #37, was only the third example ever delivered to the UK. It will now be offered at auction for the first time in its history with an estimate of $1.2m-$1.5m.
Another Gullwing will cross the block at RM Sotheby's in February.
Further notable cars from Curtis' collection will include a 1923 Bentley 3-Litre TT Replica estimated at $348,816-$406,952, a 1981 Aston Martin V8 Volante valued at $87,204-$116,272, and a 1960 Maserati 3500 GT expected to make $261,612-$319,748.
The oldest vehicles in the collection are a 1919 Singer Ten, valued at $13,042-$17,389, and the Victorian hearse, dated circa 1880, estimated at $2,898-$5,796.
"The collection is incredibly diverse, featuring high quality examples of each model, most of which have been in Mr Curtis's collection for many years," said Bonhams' UK head of motoring Tim Schofield.
"Each car in the collection had a purpose; the 1923 Bentley 3-Litre TT Replica, his favourite car, was used for local touring, the Maserati for long drives, and the Aston Martin as a summer car. We're delighted to now offer these at auction for the first time."
The Bonhams Goodwood Members' Meeting sale takes place at the historic Goodwood motor circuit on March 20.
