The entire contents of the Exmoor Classic Car Museum have sold with spectacular results at the long-awaited Beaulieu Sale from Bonhams.

The auction, held at the National Motor Museum on September 8, is one of two classic car sales from Bonhams in under a fortnight, with the Goodwood Revival Sale also expecting feverish bids on September 15.
Both auctions are remarkably well-timed, with the classic car market going from strength to strength in 2012. The respected HAGI Top 50 index reported a 10.33% rise in August alone - a 21.49% gain since the start of the year. Now is a great time for those looking to profit from their collection.
10 cars, 13 motorcycles and a range of automobilia sold from the Exmoor Classic Car Museum. Highlighting the collection was a 1927 Bugatti Type 40 Roadster, which sold for £149,340 ($238,977) - a 49.34% increase on its £100,000 ($160,000) high estimate.
Selling comfortably within its £100,000-200,000 estimate was a 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GTS Spyder, which made £144,860 ($231,829). As usual, Ferrari's enjoyed strong results in August, up 14.91% .
In contrast to the positive rises posted by HAGI, a 1925 Bentley 3/4 ½-litre Speed Model Red Label Tourer sold marginally below estimate at £158,300. Despite this, it still claimed the title of top lot in the sale, as Bentley's retain their reputation as some of the most valuable British cars.
The world record for a British-made car at auction was set in June, when the supercharged "Blower" Bentley sold for £5m at Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed.
