A 1963 Rolls-Royce Phantom V touring limousine, formerly owned by Elvis Presley, made $396,000 at Bonhams' August 15 Quail Lodge auction, up 32% on a $300,000 high estimate.

The coachwork was created by James Young Coachbuilders of London. Elvis requested a number of modifications, including a Blaupunkt Koln radio, air conditioning and a bar.
The sale took place as part of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California. Mecum's Monterey auction saw a Ferrari 250 Series II Cabriolet sell for $2.2m.
A selection of Elvis memorabilia crossed the block in an auction at Graceland on August 14.
