In addition to its auction of Yorkshire-centric artworks formerly owned by the Hollywood legend James Mason, Bonhams will also be celebrating the northern English county in its Harrogate sale the following day (November 18).
Among the sale's highlights are two Jowett motor cars, a 1924 Jowett 7hp Type C and a 1952 Jowett Javelin Saloon. Both were produced at the Bradford-based company's headquarters in Idle, West Yorkshire, and have been estimated at £7,000-9,000 and £5,500-6,500 respectively.

The 1924 Jowett 7hp, marketed as 'the little engine with a big pull', was acquired by Jack Tattersall in 2008 from another well-known collector, Sir Ray Tindle.
Meanwhile, the 1952 Jowett Javelin Saloon caused a sensation when it was launched, though production ceased shortly before Jowett's demise in 1954.
Another Yorkshire-built lot is a 1929 Scott 596cc Flying Squirrel motorcycle, invented by Bradford-born Alfred Angas Scott and dispatched new from the Scott Motorcycle Works in Saltaire, Yorkshire to dealers Jordan & Co of Kingston-upon-Hull.

Estimated at £5,500-6,500, the 'Flyer', which was launched at the Olympia show in 1925, came in 498cc and 596cc capacities; the latter being the most valuable machine in the range.
It could again prove to be valuable, and an excellent appreciable alternative investment, when it auctions at Bonhams in Harrogate, Yorkshire, next week.
