An iconic 1974 E-type Jaguar, with extremely low mileage, was the star of a Classic Motorcycle and Car Auction in Auckland, New Zealand on March 31.
Estimated to sell for between NZ$100,000-150,000, it achieved a strong showing of NZ$123,000 ($100,740), thanks in large part to having less than 20,000 miles on the clock.
The Mark III 1974 E-type is a superb specimen, capable of achieving 241 horsepower and a top speed of 145mph.
The sale is further evidence of the health of the classic car market. Classic car prices rose 13.89% last year, according to the HAGI Top 50 Index, the Historic Auto Group's price index of leading classic cars.

A number of vintage, rare motorcycles also sold at the auction, including a 1915 Excelsior Big X, which came in comfortably within estimate, with a NZ$70,150 showing.
The only extant 1915 Quirk Mona 600cc motorcycle sold for NZ$14,950.
The motorcycle had garnered particular attention from Australia, as the auction house's managing director Neil Campbell explains.
"It is the one known example of the only Australian-made motorcycle ever produced and it is thought that only about 90 of these machines were ever made," he said.
Based on the 4hp Douglas, the Quirks Mona featured many unique and advanced features for its time.
A 1929 Triumph Horsman made NZ$29,000, while a fully restored 1977 Ducati 900SS Super Sport realised $31,000.
Meanwhile a 1972 Norton F.I.M. Production Racer, just one of three originally sent to New Zealand in the 1970s, also achieved $31,000.
