A 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Berlinetta sold for $2.3m in Bonhams' Grand Marques sale in Paris on February 4.
The 275 represents a continuation of Ferrari's iconic (and substantially more valuable) 250 series - an example of which sold for a world auction record $38.1m in 2013.

Ferrari collaborator Pinin Farina created the iconic, low slung 275 body. The present lot is a grand tourer; one of 800 built, and features a much longer nose than the standard pre-1965 model.
A 1961 Aston Martin DB4 Series IV coupe made $681,939.
The car has been kept in a garage since 1981, awaiting restoration. In 2013 it was booked in at Auto Storica in Barcelona, where it was completely disassembled and reassembled.
Bonhams comments: "The Aston was finished in silver with dark grey interior, while the engine was rebuilt separately in the UK by Peter Bohn, one of the most prestigious specialist restorers of Aston Martin engines.
"A truly spectacular example of the DB4 that ushered in a new era at Newport Pagnell, this Series IV has to be one of the best currently available."
The sale featured a wealth of classic cars, ranging from a 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster that made $398,754, to a 1951 Bentley Petersen "Dartmoor" Coupe that sold for $540,247.
