H&H's classic car sale on April 13 was a day to remember for collectors and investors in British motors.
A 'barn find' 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 was the car that really set the saleroom humming.
Opportunities to purchase such completely unaltered early David Brown cars are few and far between, and the hammer eventually fell at £72,600 - double the estimated price.
Topping the results was a charmingly patented 1963 Maroon-coloured Aston Martin DB4 Series 5. It had formed part of a large private collection for the last 18 years and lain unused for the last four. It made £103,400 and will now require some light recommissioning work before returning to the road.

Jaguar E-Types are strong currency at present as befits an automotive icon celebrating its 50th anniversary.
A 1964 3.8 Roadster found a new home for £45,100 while a 1967 Metallic Blue 'Series 1.5' 4.2 Roadster was not far behind at £40,150.
