A collection of pieces from the estate of pulp crime fiction writer Mickey Spillane (1918-2006) is set to cross the block at Heritage Auctions on March 8.

Spillane is best known for his creation Mike Hammer, the archetypal “hard boiled” detective.
The collection includes the original manuscript to his debut novel I, the Jury (1947), which is offered with an opening bid of $25,000.
Other highlights include typewriters, Spillane’s own second world war uniforms and a personalised handgun engraved “Mickey’s Piece”.
