One of the most important private libraries in France, the sale features more than 1,000 books, which will be sold in two parts.
The first auction is dedicated to the period from Louis XIII (1601-1643) to the French revolution (1789-1799), and will be held at the Galerie Charpentier, Paris on April 29-30. The second sale will follow in autumn 2013.
The top lot of the first auction will be an album that records the planning of celebrations for the wedding of Louis XV's (1710-1774) son. It features 19 watercolours and is expected to make $261,000-392,000.
