5.0-graded Amazing Fantasy #15 to make up to $20,000 at Hake's

A CGC-graded 5.0 copy of Amazing Fantasy #15, the issue that introduced Spiderman, is among the top lots of the November 15 Hake's Americana & Collectibles sale.

It's expected to make $10,000-20,0000.

Spiderman is one of the most popular figures in the Marvel universe and, while not as rare as other origin issues, his first appearance tends to achieve solid figures at auction.

A CGC-graded 8.0 copy of the issue sold for $71,700 at Heritage Auctions last year.

A lobby card for the 1935 horror Werewolf of London is valued at $5,000-10,000.

The lobby card is exceptionally rare

Lobby cards were given away at cinemas to promote upcoming films and are typically printed in a variety of designs.

Hake's comments: "It appears as though this is actually the rarest card in the set, even more so than the title card.

"We have found several auction sales for the title card (for as much as $16,000) but know of no other examples of this card having sold at auction.

"It is also very important to note that this is the best card featuring the Werewolf, on this card it is the central image appearing bold and ominous."
