Grogan and Company, Fine Art Auctioneers and Appraisers, will be kicking off their 24th auction season on October 15 and 16.
On October 16, Russian Art collectors will have the opportunity to acquire a small piece of Romanov history.
An 18th century Russian Madonna of the Burning Bush Icon, bearing an exhibition label from the Hermitage Museum, with attribution as "formerly in the collection of the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna", and also bearing a label from New York retailer A La Vieille Russie, is estimated to bring $8,000-12,000.
Alexandra Feodorovna Romanova was the wife of Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia and granddaughter to Queen Victoria. Tragically, the Empress and her husband, the Tsar, and their five children were executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918.
Other noteworthy items in the two day auction include a Herter Brothers Ebonized Wood Marquetry Inlaid and Gilt Incised Cabinet, (estimated at $10,000-20,000), a substantial Art Deco Diamond and Platinum Bracelet, estimated at $15,000-25,000.

Session one, to be held on Saturday, October 15, is comprised of Fine art and will include a wide range of Fine Art from Old Master works to Impressionist and Modern works from private collections.
Highlights include a set of Six Venetian Views, attributed to Italian artist Francesco Battaglioli, and an oil on canvas, Bridal Veil Falls by George Hartwick, estimated at $2,000-3,000. Also for sale is a figural drawing by abstract expressionist Willem de Kooning, with a $15,000-20,000 estimate.
The October Auction is comprised of an impressive and varied selection of items from several prominent New England estates, including Fine Art, 18th, 19th and 20th century Furniture and Decorations, Oriental Rugs, Silver and Jewelry.
An exhibition is open to the public and will commence on Thursday, October 13.
