A quick look at the rare art markets reveals that this exceptional work by Jean De La Hoese is for sale.
Belgian artist De La Hoese (1846-1917) is well recognised among art collectors and enthusiasts as a landscape and genre painter from the Belgium School.
The artist's "Lady in pink" is an oil on panel painting measuring 15 3/4" x 11 1/4".
Lady in pink perfectly encapsulates the qualities which saw De La Hoese's art pieces exhibit extensively at the Paris Salons. His talent also earned him an Honourable Mention in the 1888 l'Exposition Universelle in Paris.

The artist was later awarded a Bronze medal at the l'Exposition Universelle of 1894, which was held in Munich.
This rare and classic artwork will auction in Houston, Texas, on February 12. It carries a $6,000-8,000 presale estimate.
Given the levels of esteem and respect that De La Hoese inspired during his lifetime, and continues to command today, the artist's Lady in pink should exceed its estimate - or provide an excellent bargain for a lucky art collector in this Texas sale.
