Five unique Zisha teapots will be among the most coveted Chinese artefacts selling at Gianguan Auctions in New York on September 15. The most valuable of the five is a $1m-estimated example featuring a crab and frog, with a maker's mark of Gu Jingzhou (1915-1996).

The clay is only found in the city of Yixing

First produced during the 17th century and using the porous Zisha clay only found in the city of Yixing, such teapots have performed superbly at auction of late, with figures passing the $1m mark.

A set of nine jade carvings from the Qing dynasty (1644-1912) will also feature, with a $60,000 high estimate.
