On December 2 in Paris, Artcurial will offer the Alexandre Tacou collection of Francis Bacon prints, led by Second Version of the Triptych 1944-1988.
|
Second Version of the Triptych, each of which is an artist proof signed by Bacon, represents the three biggest lithographs of his work ever produced. The trio is valued at $54,070-67,588.
The auction follows the November 12 Christie's sale of Bacon's Three Studies of Lucian Freud, which set a record for any work of art at auction of $142.2m. Christie's also held a sale dedicated to Bacon's prints in October, which was the first to have offered the complete collection.
