Swedish auction house Bukowski's modern and contemporary design auction on May 7 promises a diverse and representative sample of 20th century classic and contemporary works.
Highlights will include Edvard Munch's (1863-1944) The Sick Child I, a colour lithograph from 1896 which bears signatures in both red chalk and pencil.
Printed by Auguste Clot in Paris, the 42.3 x 57.2 cm print has some signs of yellowing and discolouration, and some folds in the lower left hand corner.

Munch's signature has faded slightly, but is still clear to see for collectors interested in this historic artwork. It will auction with an estimate of SEK 800,000-1,200,000 (upper estimate: US$165,840).
Other stand-out lots include Herb Ritts' (1952-2002) Karen, Los Angeles 1989 (pictured top right). It was signed and dated by the artist in LA during 1989 and numbered 7/25. The 45 x 38.7 cm is priced SEK 60,000-80,000 (lust over US$11,000).
Pre-auction viewings for the works are being held until May 2, in Stockholm.
