Dat-So-La-Lee basket to auction for $20,000?
Native American artefacts are strong performers at auction

The basket carries a $15,000-20,000 estimate ahead of the highly anticipated sale in California.

The piece, which was created in the degikup style, has been consigned from a private collection that features several other impressive woven baskets, including Pima, Pomo and Apache items.

Native American artefacts have previously proven extremely popular at auction. In June 2012, the Chatland Blanket - a striped Navajo-woven item - brought $1.8m in California, making it the most valuable Native American textile to ever appear at auction.
