A Tom Scott painting has brought £16,000 at auction - a record for a work by the famous Scottish artist.
Scott's famous work, Littledean Tower on the Tweed, dated 1897, had an opening bid of £5,000.
Tom Scott (1854 - 1927) was known as the Borders Painter for his highly-accomplished and historical paintings.
The auction, at the Swan & Turner sale in Jedburgh, Scotland, included 44 of his other works.
Top prices included £7,100 for Bowden (1896); £6,800 for Bowden Village in the Winter (1896; £6,500 for The Leader (1888); £4,600 for Huntsmen Crossing Riddell Bridge (1883); £5,600 for Scott's View; £5,000 for Cumledge Bridge, Duns, £5,000; and £5,200 for On the Ettrick (1889).
As usual, Scott's paintings of the Scottish Borders commanded the highest prices, provoking eager bidding both in the room and over the phone.
Scott's most famous work is Return to Hawick from Hornshole, 1514, which he painted in 1897.
The auction also included works by John Blair and Frank Watson Wood.
Blair's Storm and Sunshine, St Abb's, Berwick Coast, 1895, was also an auction record price for the artist - selling for £9,000.
Wood's View of Berwick from Sunnyside, 1924, sold for £2,400.
All realisations also incur a 15 per cent premium on the hammer price.
