Antique Chinese vase realises nearly $200,000

A Chinese vase found in a UK warehouse recently realised a massive £150,000 ($196,830) at Hall’s, reports local paper the Southport Visiter.

That's a 1400% increase on its £10,000 ($13,118) estimate.

The vase is beautifully hand-painted

The piece turned out to be a rare example from 18th century China. Were it not for a damaged rim, it would likely have made significantly more.

Hall’s Asian art expert Alexander Clement explained to the publication: “The vase was bought privately around 40 years ago in the Southport area…

“Exciting antique finds such as these are what keep us auctioneers getting out of bed in the morning.”
