AE Crowell holds the record for the world's most valuable decoy

Specialist Stephen O'Brien, who brokered a sale of $1.1m for two Crowell decoys in 2007, describes him as "Cezanne in the field of waterfowl carving".

His auction record stands at $830,000, the most ever paid for a single decoy.
