The 2015 Rugby World Cup was the eighth tournament and was hosted in England and Wales. New Zealand retained the title, achieving their third victory in a thrilling final against Australia.
This is a one-of-a-kind sterling silver, 24 kt gold-plated replica of the ball used in the 2015 Rugby World Cup final between New Zealand and Australia. It measures 11 inches in length and 24 inches in circumference, with a satisfying weight.
The designer is celebrated goldsmith Thomas Lyte, who worked on the restoration of the tournament’s Webb Ellis Trophy. Lyte created it using the same moulds used to make the balls for the tournament. Around the base are the dates of each game. The ball stands on a wooden plinth that echoes the one that holds the Webb Ellis Trophy.
