Description
South Africa Orange Free State 1896 'Halve/Penny.' on 3d ultramarine, type 10 surcharge, complete lower left and lower right panes of 60 (6x10), each with virtually full margins, together providing the full setting of 120 (12x10).
The left pane with the error 'Peuny.' at R3/1, the right pane from a late state with variety 'No stop' at R1/6 and R5/6, as well as the usual R10/6, SG77/9.
The left pane is without gum and with odd small faults, but the right pane is with original gum and with most stamps unmounted.
A fascinating pair of sheets for philatelic study, the right pane being very scarce with THREE no stop varieties.
