A pair of typed, signed letters from US President Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890 – 1969) and the First Lady Mamie Eisenhower (1896 – 1979).
The first is a typed letter on White House stationary, dated December 9, 1955 and addressed from the Eisenhowers' home in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The letter thanks a Mrs Herman Phleger for sending slides of a recent German art exhibition.
Eisenhower signs clearly as President in black ink.
In the second letter, Mamie Eisenhower thanks a supporter for their concerns over the president’s health (following his heart attack in September 1955).
Both letters are in fine condition, with very minor staining on the right hand side of President Eisenhower's letter.
Both letters are accompanied by their original mailing envelopes.
Two good signatures, perfect for any US political memorabilia collection.
Pre-certified by JSA and John Reznikoff.
