History of the Oyster Perpetual Celebration Dial
Rolex released five brightly-coloured Oyster Perpetuals in 2020. In pink, red, turquoise blue, green and yellow. All hugely popular with collectors.
In 2023, Rolex released the Celebration, which is an Oyster Perpetual featuring 51 circles on the dial. Each circle bears one of the five colours from the 2020 release.
Oyster Perpetuals are among the most iconic of all Rolexes. Rolex released the Oyster in 1926 - the world's first waterproof wristwatch. It added a self-winding ("perpetual") movement in 1931. Since that date, the Oyster Perpetual has been among the key offerings from Rolex.
Features include:
• A 36mm diameter Oystersteel case
With scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, water resistant to 100 meters.
• A robust Oyster bracelet
Designed to offer comfort and durability.
• The Rolex Caliber 3230 movement
Designed and manufactured in-house by Rolex since release in 2020. Featuring a 70-hour power reserve, as well as shock and magnetic field resistance.
Key points:
- Rolex's most vibrant watch
- A huge demand among collectors due to its unusual looks
- Low supply - only produced since 2023 (and likely discontinued soon as it's not a main line)
