The Macallan has released a new whisky to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Scottish poet Robbie Burns.
A limited edition of only 250 bottles have been produced which, being The Macallan, are likely to sell out quickly.
The liquid comes from two casks - one from 1997 and one from 1998 - chosen by The Macallan's whisky maker Bob Dalgarno. Both are numbered 1759, the date of Burns's birth.
The whisky contained in the bottles is rare, a sherry oak expression with an ABV of 46%, reports Whisky Intelligence.
It will be sold in an originally-designed decanter, based on the head and shoulders of the standard The Macallan bottle, within a handmade Scottish red pine wooden box.
Each box will feature a specially commissioned enamel plate with a portrait of Burns, a unique numbered printed Burns poem, and a copy of an ancient map of "Burns Country."

Recently, Burns enthusiast Professor David Purdie paid £10,000 at auction for the original Auld Lang Syne.
Purdie hasn't become the owner of the 1788 original text, but rather its patron. His winning bid paid for it to be held at the new Robert Burns Birthplace Museum alongside the original text for Tam O' Shanter and 4,500 other items.
