The sixth man on the moon, Edgar Mitchell, and NASA are currently embroiled in a legal battle over a moon-used camera.
Mitchell employed the 16mm Data Acquisition Camera on the surface of the moon during the 1971 Apollo 14 mission.
But his recent attempt to sell the camera at auction for $80,000 has brought a law suit from NASA, stating that a property transfer for the item was never granted to Mitchell.
It was quickly pulled from the auction.
Mitchell contends that the camera was among the items, including a joystick from the lunar module, NASA permitted him to bring back from the moon and keep.
