
Harry Winston diamond earrings and Bulgari ruby ring will shine in $60m sale
Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite auction will take place tomorrow in Hong Kong
Taking place on April 6, Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite sale will highlight an array of fiery red gems led by a rare 27.67-carat Bulgari Burmese Ruby, jewels of stunning innovation and timeless classics, as well as an important selection of investment-grade diamonds, gemstones and jadeite of exceptional quality.
The sale will offer 329 lots, with an estimated value in excess of HK$470m/ US$60m.
Quek Chin Yeow, Deputy Chairman and Head of Jewellery Department, Sotheby's Asia, said,
"Sotheby's Hong Kong is proud to present this April one of the most significant jewels and jadeite auctions ever, offering a kaleidoscope of superlative jewels and gemstones of the most coveted quality and market rarity to true connoisseurs.
"The top lot of this sale - a pair of DIF Diamond Pendent Earrings totalling 36.48 carats by Harry Winston - also graces this season with its sparkling brilliance and feminine elegance.
"We are also pleased to introduce a Red Sale which comprises an extraordinary and sensual selection of the finest Mogok Rubies of impressive quality and an extremely rare 1.92-carat VS2 Fancy Red Diamond, together which will undoubtedly spur intense bidding amongst international collectors."
One important Bulgari ruby and diamond ring centres on a sugar loaf cabochon ruby weighing 27.67 carats flanked on each side by a shield-shaped diamond together weighing approximately 3.00 carats, mounted in platinum and 18 karat yellow gold. It is estimated at HK$12m-20m (US$2.57m).

The top lot is an important and impressive pair of Harry Winston diamond pendant earrings. Each suspends a pear-shaped diamond weighing 14.42 and 14.04 carats respectively, surmounted by an oval diamond weighing 4.01 carats respectively, and are mounted in platinum.
All are certified as being of D colour and internally flawless clarity. The set is expected to bring HK$32m-38m (US$4.89m) in the sale which takes place tomorrow (April 6) in Hong Kong.
