An autographed letter signed to the Leipzig firm of G. Steckner.
![]() |
One page in purple ink with integral blank, Bayreuth, 11 December 1877.
Richard Wagner writes that 'they' (presumably either he and Cosima or the Bayreth Opera House) are satisfied with the five colour samples, which he is returning herewith; but they still lack the sixth shade mentioned, the noticeably darker one corresponding to no. 539, which is included on the colour chart under the name "chartreuse".
He asks Steckner to complete the first consignment and says that they expect the promised delivery of the stated quantities on time and the two whole consginments that are to be ordered within three or four weeks.
Translation available. Usual mailing folds, otherwise fine.
