Kovels reveals collectors' most popular internet search of 2011...
Could it be jewellery...? The collectibles price guide has once again revealed its most popular search
Kovels, active as an antiques and collectibles price guide since 1953, has once again released its Top Ten list of the results from the hundreds of thousands of searches that took place on its website during June, 2011.
The results give some clue as to which collectors are most popular in 2011. "Occupied Japan" dominated Kovels' chart for the past two years, reflecting the popularity of pottery, porcelain, metal, and other objects from that era.
As for this year? Bottles have been a favorite 30 years and have been regaining popularity. This is shown in Kovels' list which features both "bottles" and "bottle openers". Glass has taken the #1 spot, while "Occupied Japan" is nowhere to be seen.
Kovels' complete Top 10 for June 2011:
1. Glass
2. Furniture
3. Jewelry
4. Dolls
5. Bottles
6. Clocks
