Cartier and other great designers come to Christie's jewellery auction
A variety of gems from a diamond ring to necklace set with yellow sapphires go under the hammer
Early next month, Christie's will be holding a sale of fine jewellery which collectors won't want to miss.
Comprising 283 lots from a variety of high class designers including Cartier, Bulgari and Audemars Piguet, the sale is based around a range of moderately high value jewellery, with a few watches.
The best of the watches is probably an automatic moonphase men's wristwatch, (by Audemars Piguet). With a simple, circular white dial with Roman numerals and three subsidiary dials for day, date and phases of the moon, it is listed at £3,000-5,000.
It's the jewellery which takes centre stage however: An emerald and diamond flexible bracelet composed of square and baguette-cut diamond panels and a central row of claw-set graduated, rectangular cut emeralds and lunette-cut diamond detail is priced at £15,000-£20,000.

Similarly, an impressive diamond and yellow sapphire suite of jewellery, by Charles de Temple, consisting of a gold broad flexible collar necklace composed of alternate pavé diamond, yellow sapphire collet and textured lozenge and triangular-shaped articulated panels is also estimated at £15,000-£20,000.
The top lot, however, is expected to be a simple single-stone diamond ring. The rectangular-cut diamond weighs 4.50 carats in its claw mount, with baguette diamond single stone shoulders linking to a plain hoop. It carries an estimate of £20,000-£25,000.
All these pieces, and other investment-grade items are available in Christie's auction which takes place in London on October 6.
