Don't miss your chance to buy John Lennon's pump organ - for just $12,000
While Bonhams auctions Lennon's $240,000 Abbey Road piano, this US sale could prove a bargain
A massive three-day sale comprising around 1,800 top-quality, fresh-to-the-market lots from prominent local estates and collections will be offered on the weekend of September 24-26 by Philip Weiss Auctions.
Four lots in particular are expected to get paddles wagging. They include an exceptional vintage Tiffany Studios floor lamp in a unique style (estimated at $120,000-$180,000) and an 1888 marble statue by Italian artist Romanelli Fratelli ($20,000-$30,000).
But also among them is a lot which no art collector will want to miss: the Pablo Picasso compilation Faunes et Flore D'Antibes (Paris, 1960), a set of 12 loose offset colour lithographs housed in an original linen portfolio ($10,000-$15,000).

And the surprises don't end there... Also appearing in the auction is former Beatle John Lennon's Mason & Hamlin pump organ, estimated at just $8,000-$12,000.
This sale is especially significant, as Bonhams is meanwhile auctioning the Challen upright piano from London's famous Abbey Road studios.
Going under the hammer on August 15, the piano was played by Lennon and The Beatles - and also Pink Floyd - on a number of their hits, including Tomorrow Never Knows and Paperback Writer.
It is estimated at £150,000 ($238,600), but could sell for significantly more. With this in mind, Philip Weiss's sale of Lennon's pump organ is certainly worth collectors' and investors' attention.
Either the piano will prove a bargain and excellent appreciating investment for the buyer on the day of the sale, or it will sell for significantly more than its estimate price.
Elsewhere at Philip Weiss's auction, ocean liner and transportation memorabilia; tin signs, lithographs, prints; historic stamps and covers for philatelists; coins and currency; and a rare archive of material pertaining to the Tucker automobile, a short-lived car from the late 1940s will also appear.
The event will be held in the Philip Weiss's showroom in Oceanside, Long Island. Online bidding will also be available. Watch this space for more breaking news on the sale.
