Near mint-condition Borchardt gun shoots to €24,000 at Hermann Historica
Here are some early results from the German auction house's enormous autumn sale...
German militaria auction house Hermann Historica is not yet half-way through its October sale of guns, weapons, armour, documents and military ephemera, but already some interesting results have come through as a session of bidding on antique firearms concludes.
Two of the best highlights were as follows:
Aiming fairly low, with a listing of just €9,900, a Parabellum Carbine 1902 with shoulder stock was a key lot which turned heads.
The piece came complete with matching-numbered forearm and matching-numbered shoulder stock made of light walnut with both sling swivels, small parts strawed or blued and chequering. The horn butt cap is only lightly scratched and the screws remain blued.
Overall, it is in almost mint condition; the Parabellum seems not to have been used, only handled with greatest care. It nearly doubled its estimate to sell for €18,000
A Borchardt C 93, initially estimated at €15,000, was already keenly anticipated long before it reached the auction block. The weapon is in almost mint condition with all its original brushed bluing, flawless walnut grip panels and matching-numbered nickel-plated magazine.

Apparently unused, it came complete with its accessory wooden case still fully covered with worn, blackened linen, (dimensions 38 x 19 x 9 cm) and inlaid with green felt. Excited bidding saw it raised up to €24,000.
We'll bring you more results from this exciting sale as soon as they're available.
