Reyne Haines, the internationally respected appraiser, looks at what draws people to collecting antiques

"If you see something you like, buy it - or someone else will," said Reyne Haines in her exclusive interview with Paul Fraser Collectibles, last month.

But - for the uninitiated - what exactly is it that draws people to collecting and investing in antiques; be it furniture, jewellery or other historic trinkets?

As an expert whose antique appraisal skills are regularly put to use on television and in writing (her book, Vintage Wristwatches is now available to buy), and as a member of Paul Fraser Collectibles' very own Expert Panel, Reyne is among the best people to answer the question.

In our Video of the Week, Reyne shows US TV host Jonathan Novack around some antique pieces of furniture and the unique attributes which endear them to collectors.
