Crown & Caliber's online auction will feature 100 classic Heuer watches

Paul Fraser Collectibles, Wednesday 17 August 2016

If you're in the market for a classic Heuer watch, this is the auction for you.

US-based watch dealer Crown & Caliber's Heuer 100 online auction will feature the finest examples of the brand's vintage offerings - long before TAG bought it up in 1985.

The Heuer Monaco 74033N is among the top picks. Better known as the Dark Lord, this will be only the third time one of these black rarities has appeared for auction in recent years, with a price of around $70,000 expected.

Several rare Autavia models will also feature.

Crown & Caliber's CEO, Hamilton Powell, has noticed growing demand for classic Heuers of late.

"The Heuer market right now is experiencing a huge boom in interest over the past few years," he told Bloomberg.

"I think it's partly because of the trend toward vintage watches in general from the community and brands alike—you see a lot of brands releasing 'Heritage' collections in the last couple of years and bringing back older designs as inspiration.

"But I think it's also because Heuer watches have such a rich history not only in the watch world, but in sports and racing culture as well, and so many of their designs are iconic and timeless."

The auction runs from September 19 to September 22. We will bring you full results right here at Paul Fraser Collectibles.
