Following a multi-record-breaking 2011 (including a blistering $5.3m auction in September) Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the top wine auction house in America, will hold an exciting auction of Fine and Rare wines on February 4th.
This will take place at award-winning restaurant TRU in Chicago. The impressive auction features wines pulled from some of America's most renowned collectors.
"We were incredibly pleased to finish 2011 as the #1 wine auction house in the United States for the second straight year. I feel this serves as a testament not just to our industry leading staff, experts and service, but most importantly to the valuable collectors and consignors who continue to turn to HDH," commented HDH CEO Paul Hart.
"Our upcoming auction is the perfect way to build on the momentum from two straight years of leading the country in wine auction sales, and we look forward to offering these fantastic collections to the world."
The auction features over 100 lots from Domaine de La Romanée-Conti (est. $384,400-$573,750) and 179 lots of First Growth Bordeaux (est. $630,500-$946,000). Fans of Sine Qua Non will not be left thirsty as 55 lots of the coveted cult wine are on offer, including 27 lots from the late, renowned wine collector Michael Duffy.
The February 4th auction totals 1260 lots and is estimated to fetch $2.3-$3.5m.
The leading lots include six bottles of 2001 Romanée-Conti DRC (est. $40,000-60,000), nine bottles of 1982 Château Lafite Rothschild (est. $20,000-30,000) and 1 jeroboam (5L) of 1990 Château Pétrus (est. $20,000-30,000).
