Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has received an unexpected gift

Kareena 'Bebo' Kapoor is a famous Bollywood actress who has appeared in 35 films to date with several more in production or intended.

She has won several awards for her acting and one of the films, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, was the highest grossing Indian film in the overseas market in 2001.

This week, she was astonished when a small package was left on her doorstep containing a diamond and gold set worth around Rs2 lakh (around $4,340) and a solitaire diamond ring worth Rs3 lakh ($6,510).

The package contained a short note to the effect that the sender wished Bebo to have the jewellery, that it had been bought in Dubai and that she might like to wear it in a movie, but no name was left.

It's thought that the package may have something to do with a theft of jewellery from Kapoor worth Rs3 lakh recently. It's even been speculated that, as those charged with the robbery are currently out on bail, one of them may have attempted to make up for the crime.

In a large jewellery theft from a Saudi princess in 2009, most of the goods were recovered, though not through the well-wishes of the robbers.
