Sir Jimmy Savile's memorabilia to raise $470,000

The personal memorabilia of Sir Jimmy Savile will sell in one last effort for charity

Personal memorabilia from the estate of legendary entertainer, Sir Jimmy Savile, is to auction in a dedicated sale on July 30.

The auction comes as a result of Sir Jimmy's dying wish

The sale, which is being held at Savile Hall in Leeds, comes following the Top of the Pops star's dying wish for his lifetime of fundraising to continue after he departed. It is estimated that Savile raised over £40m ($62m) for charity during his glittering career.

The auction's biggest draw will be undoubtedly be provided by the famous red chair which Savile sat in for his best known show, Jim'll Fix It. Estimated at £8,000-12,000, the chair is now in poor condition, with wearing and tears revealing its almost 20 years in the spotlight.

Representing Savile's renowned fondness for all that glitters is a gold and diamond encrusted Rolex watch, which is due to raise up to £12,000. Also starring is Savile's Rolls-Royce convertible - dubbed The Beast - which is estimated at £90,000, though fans may prefer his yellow BMW Isetta bubble car, which will auction at the bargain price of just £5,000-8,000.

With his charity trustees eager for fans to own a piece of Sir Jimmy's legacy at an affordable price, several smaller lots have also been included in the auction. Collectors will be able to bid on a myriad of coloured string vests, which are aiming to bring £80-150, while Savile's trademark cigars will sell for £30 each.
