A scrapbook of Princess Diana and Prince Charles' wedding, created by the designer of Diana's wedding dress, has sold in the UK.

It sold for £3,194 at PFC Auctions online sale on May 24.

The front cover of the 8.5 by 5.75 inch book featured a black and white print of Diana on the wedding day, edged with the specially commissioned Nottingham lace used on the bodice of Diana's dress.

The book also featured fragments of silk taken from the fabric used for Diana's dress, as well as ivory faille bow, bridal tulle and pearl beads.

An original Emanuel-signed watercolour sketch of the dress was also included, in addition to a facsimile drawing of one of the bridesmaid's dresses, which Emanuel also produced, along with swatches of the bridesmaid dress fabrics.

Press clippings, photographs of the designer's small studio on the day of the wedding, and an Emanuel-signed compliments slip also featured.

A slice of cake from the wedding of Wills and Kate sold for £1,917 at the same same, the first piece of cake from the wedding to appear at auction.

A slice from the 1981 wedding of Charles and Diana also performed superbly, making £1,756 - breaking the world record for a slice of cake from the wedding in the process.

The sale is further confirmation of the power of Diana at auction. The dress she wore on her first official appearance with fiancé Prince Charles, in 1981, made £192,000 ($300,000) at a UK auction in 2010.
