Princess Diana's wedding dress collage set for auction

A collage of offcuts from Princess Diana's wedding dress auctions online this month

A collage of off-cuts from Princess Diana's wedding dress is coming to auction through PFC Auctions' online sale this month.

The collage, which features several fabric off-cuts from the gown and a single off-cut from one of the bridesmaid's sashes, will be auctioned from September 6-27.

The item has superb provenance, coming from the collection of Douglas and Pamela Young, whose daughter, Kerry, was employed as a nanny by the dress' designers Elizabeth and David Emanuel in the run up to the 1981 wedding.

The two small Emanuel children stayed with Kerry's parents in Gloucestershire, UK while the finishing touches were put on the dress.

Highlighting the framed collection is a stunning sample of lace adorned with three mother of pearl sequins and a superb pearl, as well as a letter of thanks from Elizabeth Emanuel to the Young family.

Hopes are particularly high for the item considering the recent strength of the Princess Diana memorabilia market.
