A collection of Pete Doherty's renowned blood paintings is to be auctioned along with a selection of the singer's possessions in London on May 11.
"Blood plays the starring role in my work. Sweat and tears are often waiting in the wings," said Doherty of the auction.

Doherty & Winehouse's Ladylike
The top lot of the sale is expected to be provided by Doherty's collaborative work with Amy Winehouse, with prices to be boosted following her death in 2011. Entitled Ladylike, the piece features a self-portrait of Winehouse in her own blood and is expected to sell for £50,000-80,000.
Commenting on the painting, Pete Doherty said: "Amy was on the phone to her dad when she did that. She said: 'Dad, I'm with Pete and he's making me draw with my blood!' He didn't like me much, her dad."
Another mixed-media collaboration will feature, this time in conjunction with actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. The piece was created during the filming of their forthcoming film, The Confessions of a Child of the Century, which is to be released at the Cannes Film Festival later this month. Entitled Leet Strife/Somalians in Camden, the piece is expected to make £5,000-9,000.
Paul Fraser Collectibles' sister company PFC Auctions is offering an original Pete Doherty work demonstrating his famous "arterial splatter" technique in its own auction, which is open for bids now.
