Elvis Presley memorabilia auction to star $35,000 stage-worn ring

Jewellery and clothing will sell in a dedicated Elvis Presley memorabilia auction

An auction dedicated to Elvis Presley memorabilia will be highlighted by a stage-worn ring on August 14.

The lavish ring can be been in a 1970 documentary film starring Elvis

Sold through Heritage Auctions, the huge pinky ring is adorned with an 1853 two and a half dollar coin, surrounded with tiny diamonds and set in a 14k gold mount. Displaying the King's suitably lavish style, it can be seen in the 1970 documentary Elvis: That's the Way It Is. With letters of authenticity from the Elvis Presley Museum and Chris Davidson's Elvis-A-Rama Museum, it is expected to sell for more than $35,000.

Following this will be another massive ring - this time a 14k gold square-faced piece, which has been set with 36 diamonds. Accompanied by a photo of Elvis where the ring is clearly visible and two unused tickets for a Nassau Coliseum concert, which was scheduled six days after his death on August 22, 1977, the ring will sell for $30,000+.

A hand-painted poster from an early December 10, 1954 concert at the Eagles Nest in Memphis will also sell with a $30,000+ estimate. The poster has been signed by two of the other acts that were performing on the bill, but is in poor condition, with holes in each of the corners and scratching due to its age.

Also featuring will be a custom gold and diamond wristwatch which was presented to Elvis by his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The Longines watch features 14 full cut diamonds with seven more forming an ornate letter "P" on the clasp. In excellent condition and still in working order, it is expected to make $10,000.

In June this year, an Omega watch worn by Elvis Presley during his army days sold 162.5% above estimate at $52,500 in New York. Paul Fraser Collectibles has a classic men's Longines wristwatch currently on offer - a superb design from the luxury Swiss watchmaker, which has proved itself fit for the king.

We also have a fantastic range of Elvis Presley memorabilia, including an authentic strand of hair from the famous haircut that he received when drafted into the US army.
